Description
AzuriteBisbee, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
12 x 8 x 3.5 cm (4.72 x 3.15 x 1.38 in)
This Azurite specimen is one of the many pieces from Dan's earlier collection, which he acquired back in January of 1969. The front side of the specimen features dozens of beautifully-formed, botryoidal Azurite clusters, all gently concaving inward to a natural alcove. Most of the clusters are covered in a midnight-blue layer of scintillating microcrystals that powerfully cascade under any level of lighting. Around the edges and isolated across the front side show portions of Azurite free any microcrystals, revealing spherical groups of royal blue and ultramarine that slightly contrast the rest of the specimen; a small subsection of Malachite is exposed on one of the specimen's corners.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
More Information: This piece is in excellent condition.
