Apatite actually refers to a group of phosphate minerals which includes this variety best described as Fluorapatite. This quite robust piece in both size and form features a well-formed doubly-terminated crystal of primarily greenish Fluorapatite on a matrix of peach and black adding contrast to an overall crystalline rock. Of further intrigue, Apatite is a major component of tooth enamel and bone material.
