Description

    APATITE
Chumar Bakhoor, Hunza Valley, Gilgit District, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan

This specimen is a sampler of most of the minerals from the 'Nagar' area of Pakistan. It features a fine, light pink Apatite, great bladed crystals of Muscovite, a little bit of colorless to light green Fluorite and a smidge of white Albite. The lustrous hexagonal Apatite is just under one inch (2.38 cm) in length with beautiful step growth faces on its termination. There is a veritable forest of Muscovite blades that are sharp and silvery in appearance. Most of the Fluorite is colorless and of minor importance, as is the Albite. Condition is excellent: the Apatite is pristine; the Muscovite shows very minimal bruising as does the Fluorite. The specimen was deemed part of Dr. Ed David's Collection, but the piece does not bear the usual painted Ed David accession number on its obverse.
    Overall Measurements: 3.74 x 2.93 x 2.21 inches (9.52 x 7.46 x 5.63 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.

Provenance: Keith Proctor, ex. Dr. Ed David [Hoppel #D1956]
