Description

Amazonite & Smoky Quartz
Tree Root pocket, Two Point claim
Teller Co.
Colorado, USA

This floater is an aesthetic trio of sorts. The world-class example was mined from the Tree Root pocket in Colorado and exemplifies what an Amazonite and Smoky Quartz should look like. The cabinet sized specimen was once owned by two elite collectors. This specimen was also featured at the Beijing exhibit in 2010, appeared in the Mineral Treasures of the World book and is featured on Mindat.org. The two bright cyan-colored Amazonite crystals are framing the jet-black Smoky Quartz. The association is phenomenal, and this is a grade-A specimen. There are typical and expected noted repairs on this specimen, but they have been expertly completed. The beautiful specimen is accompanied by the aforementioned book and a custom engraved acrylic base. Not surprisingly, this was a Bryan Lees piece.
