"Grape" Agate

A great example of this relatively "new" material, this specimen of "Grape Agate" as it is known in the trade is truly attention grabbing as it exhibits such a unique habit and formation. In particular, this is a specimen of note displaying a calming pastel purple coloration with some grayish crystals around the periphery. It features the quintessential botryoidal habit of "balls" which do resemble grapes. There is a nice lustrous coating of clear drusy Quartz over the entirely giving it a "wet" appearance. The specimen has an overall pyramidal shape with a natural flat base for convenient display. This fascinating example is in excellent condition and, although highly decorative, deserves a place in a serious collection.
