    "Gem" Chrysocolla, Quartz & Malachite
Miami, Miami-Inspiration District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

"A partially polished partial geode of gem chrysocolla lined with sparkling drusy quartz crystals. Got this piece from Norm Hoffler when he sold part of his collection when he retired."
    - Rock H. Currier

"Old-Timers" in the trade remember when Chrysocolla was Chrysocolla and squid hadn't yet morphed into 'calamari'. Now, everything siliceous and blue from included Copper is 'Gem Silica' and pricing is by the carat. Such is the way of the world, especially when the items in question are highly sought after because they stoke our inner hunger for beauty. Pretty good "stoker" here and many is the lapidary casting a covetous eye on it, with lascivious thoughts of what it could become. Don't let that happen; buy it for what it is, not for what it could become.
