Aside from the type specimen, this represents the full mass of NWA 13034, which is a HED achondrite. Found in Northwest Africa in 2018, this specimen weighs a substantial 927 grams, but it is the glorious textures and coloration that makes this so very special. A further bonus is a polished window showing the composition in wonderful form. Simply an exceptional meteorite, this eucrite breccia was actually found by prospectors working the border region between Mauritania and Algeria, adding to the legend of this particular meteorite. The moderately shocked rock had a total known weight of only 958 grams, so this individual actually accounts for well over 95 percent of the total mass of this exceptional variety.
