Description

Ordinary Chondrite Meteorite
Ordinary Chondrite
Unclassified
3.07 x 1.89 x 1.38 inches (7.81 x 4.80 x 3.51 cm)

Looking pretty much just like a nice rock, which, in this case, of course, happens to be from outer space, this specimen represents an unclassified, Ordinary Chondrite meteorite. Relatively smooth and curved over one side, and more fragmented and rugged on the other, this product is likely of Northwest Africa and just lacks a classification. The mottled offering displays red and white hues as well as the dominant brown shades for which such material is most typical. This "partial" piece has lots of coloration, texture, and character. Weighing just under 150 grams, this is a great offering of a meteorite that has everything but a "formal" name.

Estimate: $400 - up.
