This truly monstrous meteorite weighs a massive 15.8 kilograms (34.8 pounds) and represents the Main Mass of NWA 15867. This colossal rock from space is not only extremely large but also has a substantial amount of outstanding fusion crust over much of its considerable exterior surface. An impressive meteorite of any kind for both size and form, the example also happens to be of further LL4 classification, indicating a low Iron, low metal variety of ordinary chondrite with an abundance of metamorphosed chondrules. Found in Mali in 2022, where it was purchased by this consignor, this sizable offering accounts for a serious percentage of the total amount of NWA 15867 that fell, which was only a total known weight of 16.81 kilograms (37 pounds). This brownish beast displays mottled hues over two expansive surfaces and is highly textural over the exposed exterior, which is not covered in fusion crust. This huge display specimen measures 11 inches (28 cm) at maximum.
