NWA 14459 HED Achondrite Meteorite End Cut - Main Mass

This very attractive end cut weighing 289 grams represents the Main Mass of NWA 14459, which has a total known weight of only 363 grams. Unlike many such specimens, this has a gorgeous, textural rind that is, effectively, half dark brown and half lighter orangey pink. The cut and polished 'window' face is a dark blackish-brown hue, with a slight angular taper near one edge. A Eucrite polymict that belongs to the Howardite-Eucrite-Diogenite ("HED") clan of meteorites - thought to have originated from the Asteroid 4 Vesta. This heavy, dynamic example is simply a phenomenal meteorite end cut.
