NWA 10636 Meteorite Slice - 133.53 Grams
Howardite
Morocco
Found: 2014

Northwest Africa (NWA) 10636 is classified as a Howardite, a member of the HED Clan of meteorites believed to originate from the differentiated asteroid 4 Vesta, one of the largest bodies in the asteroid belt. Discovered in Morocco in 2014, Howardites are regolith breccias composed of fragments of Eucrites, Diogenites, and impact-generated material, preserving a complex record of surface processes on the parent body. This impressive slice weighs 133.5 grams and measures approximately 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), presenting a broad and visually engaging cross-section of this remarkable achondrite. The reflective, polished surface reveals an intricate brecciated fabric filled with abundant clasts of varied shapes, sizes, and colors, producing a dynamic mosaic that highlights the meteorite's complex geological history. As a striking and well-prepared representative of this relatively uncommon type of meteorite, the specimen offers both strong scientific interest and exceptional aesthetic appeal for even the most discerning of collectors.
Measurements: 6.50 x 4.72 x 0.12 inches (16.50 x 12.00 x 0.31 cm), weighs 133.53 grams
