Northwest Africa (NWA) 10636 is classified as a Howardite, a member of the HED Clan of meteorites believed to originate from the differentiated asteroid 4 Vesta, one of the largest bodies in the asteroid belt. Discovered in Morocco in 2014, Howardites are regolith breccias composed of fragments of Eucrites, Diogenites, and impact-generated material, preserving a complex record of surface processes on the parent body. This impressive slice weighs 133.5 grams and measures approximately 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), presenting a broad and visually engaging cross-section of this remarkable achondrite.
