Kimble County, Texas, has provided this example of the H6 Chondrite, found in 1918. Relatively thick and visually stunning, the rare partial slice displays a notable blackish matrix with abundant metallic flecks as well as relict chondrules. This slab has an excellent provenance from the Dr. Elbert King Collection. Weighing 89 grams, this offering represents yet another Texas meteorite that resonated with Dr. King. The main mass weighing 132.7 kilograms (292.6 pounds), is now displayed at the University of Texas Collection in Austin.
Measurements: 4.53 x 2.20 x 0.24 inches (11.50 x 5.60 x 0.60 cm), weighs 89 grams
