Weighing 48.8 grams, this most unique slice of Dhofar 700 is quite impressive with a complex, polished side that is highly dynamic in patterning. The Diogenite slice itself is loosely shaped like a slice of bread and represents the meteorite that was found in Oman in 2002. The "D" part of the acclaimed HED Clan of achondrites, like those differentiated varieties, is thought to have originated from the Asteroid Vesta. This greenish-gray rock was found near the Dhofar region of Oman, hence the name. The front is smooth due to the polish, and the reverse is striated with subtle cut lines. Several stickers are attached.
