Description

Seymchan Meteorite Slice
Pallasite, PMG
Magadanskaya Oblast, Russia - (62° 54'N, 152° 26'E)
Found: June 1967

Thin but solid, this meteorite slice representing the popular Seymchan Pallasite is classified as a PMG and was found in Russia in 1967. Measuring well over 7 inches (18 cm) in length, the offering displays two finished sides replete with greenish-golden Olivine crystals of varying size in dense concentration. The metal face on one is etched to show the crystallization patterns, while the opposite is mirror-like, with a consistent metallic silver coloration throughout. The shape and irregular edge add to an appeal that is hard to deny, given this piece is the ideal size for a display cabinet specimen. This is what a nice Pallasite should be, and this example of such a famous variety makes this both collectible and special. Weighing a hearty 249.9 grams, this slab actually represents a sizable amount of the famous Russian Pallasite.
Measurements: 7.28 x 4.03 x 0.13 inches (18.50 x 10.23 x 0.33 cm), weighs 249.9 grams
