Measuring over 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) and weighing 543.3 grams, this Seymchan Meteorite slice is a serious offering. The 'banana' shaped specimen has been expertly etched over both sides to reveal an impressive and intense Widmanstätten pattern. Of course, Seymchan is a pallasite, so will often display colorful Olivine crystals in addition to its metallic composition. This amazing piece actually is a "transitional" example whereby there is visual evidence of BOTH the Siderite, and the pallasite form, on this meteorite. Found in Russia, in 1967, Seymchan is of the Main Group Pallasite variety. This is a strikingly large and thick - at least in terms of stability - iconic pallasite from Outer Space.
