Sericho Meteorite "Skeleton" - 2.7 KilogramsPallasite
Kenya - (1°5'41.16"N, 39°6'8.30"E)
Found: 2016
Found in Kenya in 2016, Sericho is a relatively "new" meteorite to hit the market and has been popular with collectors ever since. The Pallasite offers the unique combination of a metallic structure with Olivine crystals making it one of the variety generally considered the most beautiful of all meteorites often due to the slices that can be cut from larger masses. This example is a full individual with an unusually sharp texture (literally requiring gloves for handling) characterized by hard twisted metal, full of little pockets, where crystals may have eroded. This specimen weighs a monstrous 2.7 kilograms and presents as one seriously large Sericho Meteorite. This bulky example boasts both a somewhat convex and a somewhat concave side with a steely hue to the metal form accented by golden color from the Olivine component.
Overall Measurements: 7.72 x 6.22 x 1.97 inches (19.60 x 15.80 x 5.00 cm), weighs 2.7 kilograms (5.95 pounds)
Estimate: $8,000 - up.
