Description

Esquel Meteorite Slice
Pallasite, PMG
Chubut, Argentina
Found: 1951

The Esquel Meteorite is widely considered one of the top pallasite varieties, often displaying incredible Olivine crystals of vibrant greenish-yellow coloration. This gorgeous massive slice, weighing 821 grams, has a rather large surface area resulting in two amazing reflective polished surfaces covered in big and beautiful colorful crystals, which are substantially translucent and explode with intensity when directly backlit. This oversized example is absolutely stunning, and specimens of such size and quality of this or other top-tier pallasite variety are rarely seen for sale. This truly superlative offering is relatively colossal, and the Esquel represented here is stable, with supremely "gemmy" crystals. This is a museum-quality specimen worthy of any fine collection of meteorites. The slice exudes energy, elegance and charm. A singular example of a world-class pallasite, this big and showy centerpiece slab is not to be overlooked.
Overall Measurements: 9.84 x 9.17 x 0.19 inches (25.00 x 23.30 x 0.47 cm), weighs 821 grams

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
