The impactite Moldavite is a rare and collectible material that comes from effectively a single locality. A majority of specimens seen on the market are a dark greenish coloration with a vitreous luster. Unusual in form, this offering consists of a highly textural piece in matrix. The golden-brown conglomerate rocky background hosts an example of the unique impactite partially exposed and with a noticeably flat top. A special piece from the Czech Republic, this provides true context with this assemblage. Blackish-green in hue, this columnar glassy representation measures a somewhat sizable 1.25 inches (3.175 cm) in length.
