NWA 16683 Lunar Meteorite SliceLunar (troctolitic anorthosite)
Mali
Found: 2021
2.49 x 1.84 x 0.11 inches (6.33 x 4.68 x 0.27 cm)
This specimen represents a polished slice of the lunar meteorite NWA 16683, a breccia-composed of fine-grained gray matrix embedded with lighter mineral fragments. The contrasting inclusions record the Moon's long history of impact and reformation, each clast preserving evidence of ancient geological processes. Subtle metallic flecks catch the light across the surface, highlighting the fusion of textures unique to lunar material. Classified as an Achondrite (lunar, feldspathic breccia), this remarkable slice offers an authentic piece of the Planet's nearest celestial neighbor.
Estimate: $400 - up.
