Description
NWA 13859 Lunar MeteoriteLunar (feldspathic breccia)
Northwest Africa
Found: 2021
Absolutely gorgeous in shape, form, composition, and appearance, this example of NWA 13859 is a very nice complete individual and weighs a hearty 282.3 grams. Of course, the key fact with such material is that it originated on the Moon as this is a lunar meteorite. Amazing vivid clasts of varying sizes and hues cover the rugged and complex, although surprisingly smooth from a tactile standpoint, exterior surfaces. From every side and angle, this extraterrestrial rock is visually striking. One face is stark and rugged with respect to the others, likely indicating it was subject to some weathering after it landed on Earth, but the majority of its external "skin" is phenomenal in hue, texture, and physical attributes. Found in 2021, this feldspathic breccia has the classic appearance of the type with even more character than most of similar origin. This sizable complete individual is a superb lunar meteorite and highly collectible representation.
Measurements: 3.64 x 2.44 x 1.97 inches (9.24 x 6.19 x 5.00 cm), weighs 282.3 grams
