NWA 11788 is a well-known lunar meteorite and presents as a classic feldspathic breccia type. This piece is essentially a complete individual with a single cut and polished window face revealing a very intriguing internal structure. The black interior of the rock exhibits gray and white clasts of various sizes and oddly unusual shapes. Weighing 475 grams, this fall occurred in Mail in 2017, and this remnant from the event displays an extremely rugged and mountainous texture over a complex surface. While the window face provides a view into the composition of the meteorite, the piece will rest securely on that flat surface to facilitate a dramatic vertical presentation without need of a base showing off the natural features of the space rock. Lunar material is inherently rare, highly prized by collectors, and, of course, valuable even by the gram. For its size, shape, and quality, this mass is an ideal collector specimen of Earth's lone satellite.
