Another spectacular mass of lunar meteorite, this example of "Lunar Highlands" weighs a stout 74.2 grams. With a "saw cut" window with a smooth finish, this tremendous three-sided example exhibits conglomerate breccia texture with a high concentration of impact glass. The material indicates many rounds of melting from repeated impacts. The rock contains heavily fragmented and brecciated lithic clasts as well as mineral fragments in a matrix with the glass. This specimen is one of only 12 of Lunar Highlands impact-melt breccia and the main mass of NWA 10986, the largest piece from that locality.
Overall Measurements: 2.82 x 1.68 x 1.00 inches (7.16 x 4.26 x 2.55 cm), weighs 74.2 grams
