Lunar Meteorite NWA 10203 - End Cut
Lunar Feldspathic Breccia - The Moon
    Northwest Africa

As space "debris" is constantly flying around, it is not surprisingly that asteroids impact the surface of the Moon on a periodic basis expelling pieces of lunar material into space. On the rare occasion, a rock will make it to Earth as a Meteorite. "Moon" rocks are easily identified due to a set of quite particular scientific characteristics. The most salient fact to note is that only well under 1% of all Meteorites are Lunar in origin. Clearly, this material is rare, and quality specimens are uncommon and very desirable.

Lunar Meteorites have a cachet all their own as everyone is enamored with the thought of a piece of the Moon. This end cut example of NWA 10203 is classified as a Polymict Lunar Breccia Meteorite. Inclusions of various shapes and sizes are clearly visible, with numerous, fragmental light and dark clasts appearing intermittently over the surface of this windowed example. Being an end cut, it features a rough exterior, and the piece is sizable having a weight of 18.4 grams. The specimen has substantial aesthetic appeal as the internal and external characteristics of the fine end cut combine to make it an ideal collection piece.
This is simply a unique and limited opportunity to own a piece of the Moon in the form of a Meteorite.
This rare and unusual Lot comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from "Meteorite Man" Steve Arnold.
    Overall Measurements: 2.19 x 1.22 x 0.50 inches (5.56 x 3.10 x 1.28 cm), 18.4 gm (0.65 oz.)
