    This relatively flat example of "shrapnel" from the Sikhote-Alin Meteorite which fell in Siberia, Russia in 1947 has a large amount of surface area, for a piece of only 179 grams. This roughly square specimen is relatively smooth but does still exhibit characteristics of the torn metal and violent fragmentation from the impact. This gun metal gray piece has two rather different sides, one featuring an indentation hole.
