This piece of "shrapnel" from the famous Sikhote-Alin Meteorite
which exploded over the Sikhote-Alin Mountains in Siberia, Russia
one morning in 1947 to the shock of many witnesses only weighs 85
grams but has lots of character. The piece is highly concentrated
at one end with its tip (or base, as preferred) being a relatively
sharp point. This uniquely-shaped example is steely and dense, with
a rough surface.
