    Sikhote-Alin Meteorite Pendant
    Iron, Coarse Octahedrite - IIAB
    Maritime Territory
    Siberia, Russia (46°09'36"N, 134° 39'12"E)
Witnessed Fall: 12 February 1947 10:30 am local time
    1.31 x 0.79 x 0.37 inches (3.33 x 2.00 x 0.94 cm)

The Sikhote-Alin is arguably one of the most aesthetic and stable of all the iron Meteorites. The largely witnessed fall over Siberia, Russia during the daylight hours of one fateful day in 1947 has produced an immense amount of material including examples of "shrapnel" in evidence of the violent fragmentation associate with the bolide impact. This example of the torn metal has been fashioned into a "bell" shaped pendant ready for a necklace. The outer facing side has a subtle but noticeable texture with variations of surfaces and edges. The reverse side is more flat in general allowing the pendant to lay flush against the body of the wearer. This is a truly "out of this world" way to exhibit this bona fide Meteorite all the time.
