Muonionalusta Meteorite Wristwatch, Cufflinks & Guitar PickIron, IVA
Norrbottens, Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
Found: 1906
A rare and captivating four-piece set crafted from the legendary Muonionalusta Meteorite-an Iron, IVA type believed to have fallen to Earth approximately one million years ago. Discovered in northern Sweden in 1906, this meteorite is estimated to be over 4.5 billion years old, making it one of the oldest known solid materials in the solar system.
Made in Germany, the wristwatch is a striking example of precision horology fused with celestial material. Both the case and dial are carved from solid Muonionalusta Meteorite, exhibiting the iconic Widmanstätten pattern-an intricate nickel-iron lattice structure found only in meteorites that cooled slowly in space over millions of years. The acid-etched finish enhances this unique texture. Powered by a Quartz movement, the watch is completed with a classic black ostrich leather strap. The case measures 39 mm in diameter. The watch movement is currently functional and features a new battery. However, the crown is not properly fitted to the stem. As a result, the stem cannot be fully inserted after setting the time, which interrupts the battery's power connection to the movement.
A pair of Muonionalusta Meteorite slices, each expertly mounted in sleek Sterling Silver settings, mirrors the same distinctive crystalline beauty seen in the watch dial. Measuring 2.25 x 1.73 cm and set with fixed whale-back findings, each cufflink features a visible Troilite inclusion-an uncommon and desirable feature in meteorites. Both stylish and scientifically significant, they serve as wearable fragments of our solar system's ancient past.
A solid Muonionalusta Meteorite guitar pick rounds out the collection-both a functional accessory and a tactile artifact of cosmic origin. Together, these pieces offer a rare convergence of science, craftsmanship, and design-a unique opportunity to own a wearable set of extraterrestrial history.
