Muonionalusta Meteorite Slice
Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
This specimen is small in stature but unusually thick giving it a
weight of nearly 200 grams. Etched on both sides to an incredible
degree, this magnificent presentation of Muonionalusta Meteorite
has an intense Widmanstätten patterning making it visually striking
from both sides. The relatively thick edge boasts the same silvery
gray coloration as the primary display faces. This is one
spectacular but small meteorite with impact well beyond its size
and weight. The Muonionalusta is the oldest of the meteorites on
the Earth, and this is a rather remarkable representation of the
world renowned Iron.
Overall Measurements: 3.24 x 3.03 x 0.25 inches (8.22 x 7.69 x
0.63 cm), weighs 199 grams
[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
