Description
Muonionalusta Meteorite Push DaggerMuonionalusta Blade, Iron, IVA
Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
Tooth Handle, Mammuthus primigenius
Pleistocene
Alaska, USA
This unique offering is a hand-crafted push style dagger. The blade has been meticulously hewed out of a piece of Muonionalusta Meteorite, with the handle made out of cut and polished Mammoth Tooth. The meteorite blade measures 2.25 inches (5.71 cm) and displays the stunning Widmanstätten pattern which is the crisscross design associated with this Iron meteorite. The blade has been constructed in a San Mai fashion, which allows the meteorite to be forge-welded to a piece of tool steel creating a durable and long-lasting cutting edge. This intricate blade also features an inlayed piece of 24 karat gold. The smooth handle displays a beautiful blue and white pattern associated with fossilized Mammoth teeth. The blue is created by the inclusion of Vivianite when the tooth fossilized. This push dagger is accompanied by a hand made Orthoceras fossil box to store the blade. This is an incredible one-of-a-kind blade presented in a most unique way.
Overall Measurements: 3.95 x 2.02 x 0.27 inches (10.03 x 5.12 x 0.68 cm)
