Description
Muonionalusta Meteorite Pen & Letter OpenerIron, IVA
Norrbottens, Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
Found: 1906
This exceptional writing instrument and letter opener set is crafted from the Muonionalusta Meteorite, an ancient Iron, IVA type meteorite discovered in northern Sweden in 1906. Estimated to have fallen over one million years ago, the Muonionalusta is among the oldest known meteorites to have impacted Earth, dating back roughly 4.5 billion years. The pen features a solid meteorite barrel, precision-turned from a single block of extraterrestrial Iron-Nickel alloy. The surface reveals a deeply etched Widmanstätten pattern-a rare interlocking crystal structure formed only in the vacuum of space over millions of years of slow cooling. This signature pattern, impossible to replicate on Earth, lends the pen a striking, metallic geometry that is both visually captivating and scientifically extraordinary. The pen measures 4.8 inches (12.2 cm) in length and weighs 46.8 grams. Accompanying the pen is a matching solid meteorite letter opener, also displaying the characteristic Widmanstätten texture. Sleek and balanced, the opener measures 6.2 inches (16 cm) in length and weighs 34.8 grams, offering both elegance and utility. Together, the set reflects a fusion of refined European craftsmanship and cosmic history-an exceptional collector's item or executive gift made from one of the universe's most coveted materials.
