    Muonionalusta Meteorite Octahedral Cube
Muonionalusta - Iron fine octahedrite - (IVA)
    Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)

The Muonionalusta is a relatively well-known Meteorite from northern Sweden. Essentially, it was first found by accident when local children were playing and came across pieces of the Iron fine octahedrite. One important characteristic of the Meteorite is that it displays an intricate Widmanstätten pattern that is diagnostic of Iron Meteorites and formed from the two Nickel-Iron alloys - Kamacite and Taenite - of which octahedrite Meteorites are composed. This unique octahedral cube has lots of faces with muted gray coloration which showcase said Widmanstätten pattern on each and every one. The dense, heavy geometric shape is essentially an oddly shaped 2 x 2 inch (5 x 5 cm) cube that weighs 565 grams. A very unique presentation for a Meteorite specimen, making this adorable robust example quite edgy.
    Overall Measurements: 1.95 x 1.95 x 1.95 inches (4.95 x 4.95 x 4.95 cm), weighs 565 gm (19.92 oz.)

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
