    Muonionalusta Meteorite Cube
Muonionalusta - Iron fine octahedrite - (IVA)
    Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)

This little cube may only be slightly over 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) square, but it sure packs a punch. The purely unfathomable, geometric "gem" is made out of a solid piece of the Muonionalusta Meteorite which was initially found in Sweden in 1906. The octahedrite example has been cut into a cube, but it is the process of etching to reveal an amazing Widmanstätten pattern which makes this piece so special. Unlike typical specimens, this block was "custom" etched which is not surprising given the vibrant crystalline structure exhibited by this meteoritic wonder. In certain Meteorites, including octahedrite irons like this one, this almost indescribable interwoven pattern of kamacite and taenite bands will be exhibited on the surface of the Meteorite as a result of the etching process. This is a phenomenal piece with an amazing pattern.
    Overall Measurements: 1.60 x 1.60 x 1.60 inches (4.07 x 4.07 x 4.07 cm), weighs 515 gm (18.16 oz.)
