    Description

    Las Palmas Meteorite
    Iron
    Las Palmas, Paraguay

Originally thought to be a part of the Campo del Cielo strewn field, the Las Palmas Meteorite was later determined to be the result of a different meteor shower and tends to be, generally, more stable than the famed iron from Argentina. This example from Paraguay is visually stunning, with an abundance of crater-like shallow regmaglypts covering the entire surface of this obviously stable and aesthetic piece. Weighing a stout 13.3 pounds (6 kilograms), this outstanding example is an ideal size and consummate display specimen with a rich metallic coloration, a highly textural exterior and a naturally artistic shape. The platinum-hue patina over the entire surface of this loosely triangular rock literally shines and glows.
    Overall Measurements: 5.91 x 5.23 x 4.72 inches (15.00 x 13.28 x 12.00 cm), weighs 6.05 kilograms (13.33 pounds)

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
