The Gibeon meteorite fell to earth thousands of years ago in the
great Namib Desert. It is composed of an iron-nickel alloy
containing significant amounts of Cobalt and Phosphorus. Presented
here is a slice of this iron-nickel meteorite featuring the
aesthetic octahedrite Widmanstätten pattern. This piece does have a
few rust spots, but that is to be expected and is very common with
Iron meteorites such a Gibeon.
