The Gibeon Meteorite fell during prehistoric times and is certainly
one of the best-known of all the iron meteorites. From a large
strewn field in Namibia, this sliced example is substantial at
almost 200 grams and is rather thick for a slice of its size. Both
cut surfaces exhibit the Widmanstatten pattern as well as a
grouping of dark spots adding character to the piece. The Nama
people originally discovered the Gibeon Meteorite and actually used
pieces to make tools and weapons. It has only minor and expected
