    Gibeon Meteorite Slice
    Iron, IVA
    Great Nama Land, Namibia - (25° 30'S, 18° 0'E)
    Found: 1836

Weighing nearly 5 kilograms (11 pounds), the most obvious attribute of this meteorite slice is the very large size. With a major curvature and sharp rugged edges, this circular example looks more like some medieval weapon than an etched specimen of the Gibeon Meteorite. The massive metallic disk is very thick and exhibits a brownish patina over the inner and outer edges. Both sides of this monstrous slab feature some inclusions of various size and form, with a couple larger expansive spots adding a bit of contrast to the otherwise silvery hue specimen. The "crisscross" pattern is dramatic all over the piece.
    Overall Measurements: 13.31 x 11.81 x 0.34 inches (33.80 x 30.00 x 0.86 cm), weighs 4.86 kilograms (10.71 pounds)

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]

    Estimate: $15,000 - $25,000.
