Such a small thing, this piece of a Gibeon meteorite, but it illustrates the internal structure of a Nickel-Iron Octahedrite in a tangible way that is rarely seen. At 5/8ths of an ounce, its claim to fame isn't its size, but the fact that it is one of the few visibly complete crystals of an octahedrite known. It has a rusty, oxide alteration patina with no visible enhancements or treatments.
Overall Measurements: 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.5 inches (2.5 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm), weighs 18 gm (0.63 oz.)
