While any meteorite of this caliber does not need any secondary level of descriptor, this classic example of Campo del Cielo from Argentina does look a bit like a "claw" in a certain orientation. The sculpturally magnificent offering of the popular Iron variety weighs a robust 4.1 kilograms (9 pounds) and presents amazingly well in any number of display positions without need of a base. Highly dimensional and replete with complex craters over the entirety of its rugged surface, the rock from space, first officially found in 1576, and likely having fallen thousands of years prior to initial discovery, Campo represents a wonderful meteorite which, like this specimen, "checks all the boxes" for a significant Iron. An outstanding size for any display case, or cabinet, the offering exhibits spectacular shape, superb form, and visual stability. The layer of reddish-orange patina complementing a dark blackish-brown coloration of the extraterrestrial metallic visitor results in a striking piece sure to enhance any collection. The combination of attributes makes this a visually attractive winner.
