This superlative iron meteorite represents the famous Campo del Cielo find and simply looks like what a meteorite should. The exceptionally aesthetic offering is replete with 'thumbprint' regmaglypts and has a zoomorphic aspect in the abstract resembling some type of animal as pronounced 'feet' are extremely visible protruding from the metallic mass. Weighing a robust 4.5 kilograms (10 pounds), this spectacular specimen has both size and quality going for it. A consummate display piece, this example can be shown in multiple orientations and would be the centerpiece in any display or cabinet lucky enough to house it. Its gunmetal gray hue is a classic, and this stunning individual resembles Sikhote-Alin, in photographs. Silvery metallic edges contrast with the rich body color, and the stable rock has minimal exposed patina.
