While bigger might not always be better, it is a rarity to find a larger meteorite with all the superb attributes of a nicer smaller specimen in most cases. In this instance, a rather massive Campo del Cielo exhibits "museum-quality" characteristics in excellent detail even though the piece weighs a whopping 25 kilograms (55.5 pounds). Covered in large regmaglypts and scoops over its sculptural surface, this intensely "thumb-printed" offering is seriously collectible. One extended, curved edge is relatively smooth, providing somewhat of a partial shell to the rugged metallic rock from space. A meteorite that checks all the boxes - and then some - the representation of the iconic Iron, IAB-MG boasts an ideal brownish coloration, minimal orangey patina, and significant weight. This very solid and heavy specimen can be oriented in a number of positions and offers numerous faces which all have contrasting textures with multiple indentations, resulting in one superb example of Campo del Cielo-the classic Iron and 'must have' for any comprehensive collection of well-known meteorites. The meteorite is accompanied by a simple black metal stand and a black electric turntable for optimal presentation.
