Campo Del Cielo Iron Meteorite
Iron, coarse octahedrite
Gran Chaco, Argentina
5.91 x 5.71 x 1.97 inches (15.00 x 14.50 x 5.00 cm)
At some 14.5 lbs. (6.6 kg), this Meteorite is impressive on sheer
size alone. However, it also happens to be Campo Del Cielo which
has been known dating as far back as 1576 and is one of the most
collectible and popular of all iron Meteorites. This "Valley of the
Sky" piece evidences some rusting, typical for the variety, which
can be easily treated. This whopper is very aesthetic piece with a
nicely textured surface.
