The painting portrays a scene from the American frontier or Old West, focusing on the arrival of a woman, presumably the New School Marm, at a frontier settlement. The composition highlights her arrival by placing her centrally, surrounded by elements such as a stagecoach, a man on a porch, a boy, and a dog, all seemingly observing her presence. The present work appears on page 66 in the October 1980 issue of Southwestern Art magazine and was published as a print in 1987.
