The present work is one of a set of six illustrations by James Montgomery Flagg that illustrate the story "Blackbeard and Co. Pirates" by Stephen-Vincent Benet, a romantic fantasy about a bored office worker who is kidnapped from her life of modern drudgery to live happily ever after as a pirate's wife. It appears with the caption "She devoted herself to a judicial consideration of Men."
