    Todd Hignite is a Vice President of Heritage Auctions, with a focus on art consignments across a number of categories. He has managed many of the most important comic and illustration art consignments to be brought to auction, including the world record prices for original American comic art, The Eric Sack Collection: Masterpieces of Underground Art, and The Jerry Weist Collection of Science Fiction and Fantasy Art. Hignite has extensive experience in all capacities of the art world, including working for Pace Gallery, New York, is author of the books The Art of Jaime Hernandez/The Secrets of Life and Death (Abrams, 2010) and In the Studio: Visits with Contemporary Cartoonists (Yale University Press, 2006), and was founding editor of the Harvey Award-winning magazine Comic Art. He holds a Master’s Degree in Art History from Washington University in St. Louis, acted as inaugural curator for that university’s Modern Graphic History Library, and has organized a number of exhibitions devoted to comic and contemporary art, notably the retrospective R. Crumb's Underground, which originated at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, and toured US museums, including the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, and the Frye Art Museum, Seattle.
