LITERATURE:
A. Duncan, Tiffany Lamps and Metalware: An illustrated reference to over 2000 models, Suffolk, Woodbridge, 2019, p. 92, fig. 351 (similar example of shade 1508), and p. 92, figs. 352, 353 (similar examples of base 392).
Condition Report*:
Shade: Rare example of the large "Jeweled Geometric" shade, with geometric ground that transitions from marigold at aperture to chartreuse at rim and band of spherical Favrile "jewels" in shades of blue, aqua, lavender and silvery gold. One jewel with partial loss. 15 jewels with tight, stable hairlines. Approximately 10 tiles with tight stable hairlines, one with spider crack, and one with small shallow chip to exterior surface. Original heat cap in very good condition.
Base: Rare telescoping "Ball" base, well-matched and likely original to the shade. Original reddish-brown patina with minimal surface wear. Base encircled by a band of spherical Favrile "jewels" in shades of blue, aqua, lavender and silvery gold. Eight jewels slightly recessed and likely replaced, typical of this model. Five G.E. Co. sockets and one Bryant socket.
