    Throughout the 1930s, Jean-Michel Frank collaborated with Alberto and Diego Giacometti to produce a variety of lighting and objects to be placed in Frank's interior design commissions. The Tête de Femme series of lamps were originally conceived in 1933 and were later seen in former Vice President and esteemed art collector Nelson Rockefeller's Fifth Avenue home, which was designed by Frank. In 1977, Rockefeller established the Nelson Rockefeller Collection, Inc. which reproduced limited runs of select works from his private collection. The present example was cast from Rockefeller's original floor lamp.
