He has participated in several individual and group exhibitions throughout South America, the United States, and Europe and has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Grand Prize for Painting at the 1955 Salón Municipal, La Paz, and First Prize at the 1975 INBO Biennial, La Paz. Arnal also taught painting at the Universidad Católica Boliviana in La Paz.
