This massive slab of fossiliferous seabed marble has been cut and polished from a single block and teems with a wonderful array of earthy shades and swirling patterns, from which emerge as though from the distant past the remains of the ancient ocean's denizens. Ammonites and Orthoceras are represented in vividly contrasting shades of white and gray, creating a beautiful natural canvas that makes for an immediately striking furnishing piece, polished to a lustrous smoothness with a curved bevel to the edge, 55 x 31½ inches.
