This one-of-a-kind console table is the perfect way to display one of the most prevalent fish species that once lived in fresh water lakes and rivers of North America during the Eocene. The table is sprinkled with nine fossil fish of varying sizes, resting forever in a slab of the Green River oil shale.They have been captured "in situ" - just the way they were found when the rock was first uncovered. The largest fish measures 5.3 inches (13.5 cm) The table has been treated for everyday use. So don't worry about spilling wine or coffee! The table top comes with a separate custom-forged wrought iron base. Lastly, a fun fact for your house guests, Knightia is the state fossil of Wyoming. This table is in excellent condition and will add a touch of history to any room.
