Description
Zebra Stone SphereStone Source: Argyle Station, Kununurra
East Kimberley, Western Australia
Australia
This unique material gets its name from its animal namesake due to the resemblance to zebra stripes. This stunning sphere has been cut from this exotic material only found in Australia. It formed naturally millions of years ago with this interesting patterning. This sphere has been cut and polished from a larger piece and crafted with two "bull's-eyes" on both ends surrounded by creamy stripes. The overall color of this sphere is deep mahogany intermixed with earthy creams. This piece is a truly stunning example of a rare, unique and highly collectible stone from the Johnny Cake Shale that is Precambrian.
Overall Measurements: 5.25 inches (13.33 cm) in diameter
Provenance: Central Coast Collection
[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
